KoolPool plans to launch in Pune |
| KoolPool, with its success story in Mumbai, is planning to go down the lanes of neighboring Pune city. The decision to reach out Pune residents came when office goers, mostly to the Software Technology Park of India at Hinjewadi, sought KoolPool to sort out their traveling woes. |
| With little alternative for public transport, the 16,000-odd employees working at Hinjewadi, about 20 kilometers from Pune city, face acute problem for commuting. Studies reveal that nearly 1 lakh vehicles add on to the existing population of 14 lakh vehicles on Pune roads each year. Of which, 70 per cent are two-wheelers. |
| As private vehicle ownership continues to rise, and with no significant alternatives for public transport car pooling or bus pooling to offices at Hinjewadi translates to be the best alternative to travel. |
| “Pune, with its limited public transportation facilities, has great potential to develop as a landmark in using carpooling or buspooling as a major source of traveling,” said Joshua D’Souza, founder of KoolPool. |
| “The congestion of Pune roads will experience a significant change, if only the IT firms at Hinjewadi collaborate and opt to transport their employees using KoolPool’s concept,” added Joshua. This would directly reciprocate the efficiency of employees working with the firms as stress of commuting through congested city roads would become negligible, said Joshua. |
| A survey is currently being conducted among employees KPIT Cummins, Wipro, Spectramind, Cognizant, Infosys, I2IT, SEAP, Geomatric Solutions, Compulink, Veritas, Persistent, Aftek, Starent, UGS and others firms at Hinjewadi. |
| “A pooling service from more than 30 locations from Agricultural Road to Yeraoda House is being planned. We would plan a launch after we carefully study the survey forms filled up by various employees,” further said Joshua.
